Description: What should you look for in a lens when it comes to food photography? If you want high quality food photos that will make you want to lick your screen, you need to start with quality lenses. Three frequently asked questions when it comes to lenses for food photography answered in this video: 1) Should I use a macro or non-macro lens 2) Is a prime or a zoom lens better 3) What aperture is best? The Tamron 28-75mm and Tamron 90mm are lenses trusted by many professional food photographers and featured in this video. Macro lenses work great for eye level shots of food to show height. They also work well for 45-degree angle shots, which makes it seem like you were seeing the food right in front of you. The Tamron 90mm F2.8 DI VC lens will allow you to get as close as 11.8 inches to your subject in order to highlight fine juicy details. A non-macro lens works great for flat lay over top type shooting. #2 Is a prime lens the best lens for food photography?     When it comes to prime or zoom lenses for food photography, each one has their pros and cons. What’s great about using Tamron’s 28-75 f/2.8 for food photography is that you have the ability to keep the camera fixed in one position and quickly zoom in and out to change composition. Zoom lenses make life easier when shooting over head shots as you could fix the camera, arrange the elements, and make fine adjustments to the zoom to either remove or show more elements. #3 What aperture works best for food photography?  The 28-75mm has an aperture range from f2.8-f22 and f2.8-32 on the 90mm macro. While you can open up the aperture to f2.8 to get that beautiful out of focus area around your subject, closing the lens down to f/4 or 5.6 (especially with the 90mm) will give you a more all around sharp and focused photo while still blurring out the background. --------------------- Equipment we use to produce our videos (paid links): Main Camera:  Canon 5D MK IV - amzn.to/3cfH8HR Canon EF 35mm F1.4 L II - amzn.to/2vhEGzL Glide Gear iPad Smartphone Teleprompter - amzn.to/2HXoyGn Manfrotto 502A Video Head, 546GB - Tripod amzn.to/3aaZebN Broll:   Canon EOS R w/RF 50mm F1.2 - L amzn.to/32trgNa EF 16-35mm F2.8 L III - amzn.to/2PsIXan Manfrotto Nitrotech N8 & 546B Pro tripod with mid-level spreader - amzn.to/37US3Di Lights: Manfrotto Sectra 1x1 (discontinued) x3, but here are similar lights - amzn.to/2wco1NZ Manfrotto LYKOS led Daylight - amzn.to/3a7U1lk Light Stands: Manfrotto Nano Stand (5002BL Nano Plus Stand) - amzn.to/2TkfKPU Manfrotto Alu Master stand x2 - amzn.to/2HUWaV9 Avenger baby alu stand 30 - amzn.to/2PqLt0S Manfrotto Avenger A4050cs 16.4’ steel boom stand 50 - amzn.to/2T2EJZ6 Manfrotto Friction Arm - amzn.to/32vrnbi Manfrotto Super Clamp - amzn.to/39dTOg4 Color checker: X-Rite ColorChecker Video - amzn.to/3ccRqIo Audio  Audio-Technica ATW-1701/L System 10 Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (2.4 GHz) - amzn.to/2HUWPWD Monitor  SmallHD 701 Lite HD HDMI Monitor - store.smallhd.com/store/701L-HDMI-On-Camera-Field-Monitor Headphones  Senal SMH-1000 Professional Field and Studio Monitor Headphones - amzn.to/2SYpvo5 ***************************************************************************** GOJA as an Amazon Associate earns from qualifying purchases facilitated by this piece of content.
